It has one owner and it is mostly highway miles. I drove it and it drove better than my dad's 01 Oldsmobile with 56,000 miles on it. The engine is clean and there are no leaks. It seemed to be well maintained. He is asking $6500 and that is the Blue Book value

Average Miles for an 8 yr old vehicle would be about 135,000 So this is a high miler in anybodies book. Blue book does not apply to high mileage cars no matter who is trying to sell them. Also another thing to think about is cost of service.....ever have a Lexus serviced at a Lexus dealer? A 60,000 mile service is upwards of 600.00.

Try to trade with him to get a price of 3000$-3500$ =)).
not a good deal even if it's a Lexus.

due to miles, the blue book value is out the door. knock off at least 1,000 if not 1500 for miles alone. if he took it to a dealer to trade in, he'd be lucky to even get 3,000 for the car.

Too many miles.I wouldn't buy the car for $3000.
Lexus repairs are expensive.

I would never suggest to buy such an old model of Lexus ES300 model 98.You have to spent a lot of money to bring him back on the road with its full performance. It will prove a white Elephant.

what are you people talking about?
There is nothing wrong with picking up a 98 es. Sure, you may have to do a few repairs, but in the long run, the es will pay you back with years of satisfied driving.
Screw the miles, those cars will go 300, 400thou. easy.
One thing I do agree with is not to pay that much for it. I would give him 4,000
