Im in the market for the IS, but i dont know which to get, the 250 is cheaper but the 350 has a more powerful engine. Although i do not want to spend to much, i do want the power there and availible when i need it. Everything else with the car is the same, aside from the engine. What to do???

While driving, there is no big difference.

have you also looked at the 300? the 250 and 350 are not too much different, just the looks and improved performance, I say if you want to go for a 350 then wait a few months until their competitors come up with one so the price will drop

You can't go wrong with either car. They are the same vehicle as you mentioned just two different engine sizes and yes price point. Don't be fooled into thinking that you will not have power in the IS 250 it is still a zippy car and plenty fast. 0-60 is 7.9 seconds. The IS 350 is 5.3. The IS 350 has a more advance stability and traction control system (VDIM vs. VSC) to handle to increased power.
And of course with a smaller engine you get better gas mileage. IS 350 (21/28), IS 250 (24/32).
The best solution, if you can find a dealership that has them in stock would be to drive both of them to see for yourself.

The 350 is a much more powerful and quicker car, I have a IS 300 that I had for the past 5yrs and waiting to see if there will be a coupe version of the 350 coming out. If your budget allows, then go for the IS 350

It really depends on how you value take off not speed. A IS 250 can go just as fast as a 350 at any MPH it will just take a couple seconds longer to get there.Save money and get a IS 250 same equipment and options you wont even miss the bigger engine.
