DaUserbarMaker 09-29-2007, 03:02 PM I heard of this. I simply belive that we could create anti-slip mats which could still be removed. Or make floormats that get bolted down but can easly be removed.
Lexus Forums 10-01-2007, 11:44 AM People just need to realize that when placing down all-weather floor mats, you must remove the ones that come with the car.. Having two sets of floor mats could make this a problem in any vehicle...

I never heard of a company recalling floormats, but that is very dangerious in a way I guess.

In a few of my non lexus cars the floor mats have a hole in the left side with a hook mounted on the floor that the floormart slips into.
Robert 10-07-2007, 09:33 AM I couldn't believe this when I read it lol. It is dangerious and I'm glad to see they are taking steps to resolve this problem.

I know what you mean. My work car has this hole and it enver slips out of place.
GXOwner 10-07-2007, 10:53 AM I'm glad to see that they are taking action to resolve this problem. A lot of companies would try to put it off. I wonder if anyone has been hurt because of this?

I wonder if anyone has been hurt because of this? There is no doubt in my mind that floor mats can reduce the chance of slipping the foot.Toyota has taken right step towards the safety of the drivers by recalling them again.
lexuslover 10-08-2007, 07:16 PM I think it is a common problem which might cause a big incident so why it is specific for ES only (As this forum is about ES-section)? We should do the right things with the right stuff. "Greed is a Curse" so probably I am not going with double matting.
Bobby 10-09-2007, 03:15 AM I think that it was good of them to come forward and to fix the problem. I just hope no one actually got hurt from this.
Lexus Forums 10-09-2007, 10:05 AM I had this same thing happen to me with my 1970 Chevy Nova.. It's not a manufacturer defect. Floor mats can potentially be a problem in any vehicle - especially when there's one set on top of another.

I also have an escape and the mats slide up in it. Nothing to concern me about... I just pull it back down.
