I currently own a Acura TL; my friend's uncle just got a Lexus SC430 in his lot. I am really contemplating getting it.
What do you think of the car? The only real concern I have is that I am told it's an older person's car; and might not look appropriate for me as I am 26...has anyone else heard this?

What do you think looks appropriate for you? In whose eyes?
I think that if you buy a car based on what others may think you look like in that car, you are short-changing yourself because you miss owning and driving many fine cars.
What do you want in your car? The TL is a very good car in its class. It is made well, has good power and handling and looks sharp. So does a Vette. But, they are not competitors. Neither is the SC.
There are many reasons to choose one car over another. Economy, power, comfort, luxury, performance, style, visceral excitment, etc.
The SC is a high-end luxury V8 convertible. It is stylish, opulent, rides comfortably if the run-flat tires are replaced, has moderate acceleration and good passing power. It also has a unique rounded look.
The SC is not thought of as a young man's car because it does not evoke excitement. Instead, it is sedate and presents the ambiance of luxury. It is often thought of as a car for the mature individual who wants comfort and reliability over performance and handling. This may be the determing factor for you.
The SC does not give good mpg. Mine is new, under 1,000 miles driven. It has not yet gone a long distance but instead has only been used in the city. I have averaged 16mpg using 91 octane gasoline.
It is perfect for me because I want to be smothered with comfort and luxury when I drive down the street. I have had cars that could dive into curves at high speeds without reducing power. I have out grown that kind of need.
Lastly, I could not care less what others might think when they see me driving with the top up or down. I know that I have the car that satisfies my every desire. It should for the price it cost.
Good luck with your choice.
