The ES is Lexus' entry level luxury sedan. The old 330 was a 230-hp V-6; the new 350 is a 270-hp V-6. It is essentially a rebadged Camry with better interior appointments and a quieter ride. As such, the handling is smooth and predictable, but the ES is not sporty. It tends to range price from about $35,000-$50,000 or so.
The GS is Lexus' upper-level luxury "sport sedan"- you could compare it with the BMW 5-series and Mercedes-Benz E-class.It comes with a choice of two different engines-- a 245-hp V-6, or a 300-hp V-8. It also comes as a hybrid, the GS 450h, introduced in April of this year. (I'm not quite sure what the power output is for the hybrid, but i know it's more than the V-8, even though the gas-engine part of the system is a V-6) It's supposed to have a sporty flare, and is a muscular, performance car. It's sort of styled like a "4-door coupe" (like the Mercedes CLS), but seats five, and thus is technically considered a sedan. It usually ranges from about $45,000 to $58,000.
As to whether one is better-suited than the other to a female driver... that's a matter of personal opinion. Some women MAY prefer the ES, based on it's styling and easy driving dynamics. Then again, some may prefer the GS for the same reasons.
Personally, I like both of them, but would choose the ES for it's comfortable interior. (The GS feels like a ROCK inside, at least to me)

The 2006 Lexus ES 330 is a 4-door, 5-passenger luxury sedan, available in one trim only, the Sedan.

Upon introduction, the ES 330 is equipped with a standard 3.3-liter, V6, 218-horsepower engine that achieves 21-mpg in the city and 29-mpg on the highway. A 5-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard.

The 2006 Lexus ES 330 is a carryover from 2005.

The 2007 Lexus GS 430 is a 4-door, 5-passenger luxury sedan, available in one trim only, the Sedan.

Upon introduction, the GS 430 is equipped with a standard 4.3-liter, V8, 290-horsepower engine that achieves 18-mpg in the city and 25-mpg on the highway. A 6-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard.

The 2007 Lexus GS 430 is a carryover from 2006.

I think the Lexus ES is more suitable for a woman.

The Lexus ES 350 is a very comfortable entry level luxury sedan. It does everything very well. It isolates you from the ouside world. You feel the luxury. Your senses tell you this is not a Camry (it shares the basic chassis, but the similarity ends there).

The Lexus GS 350 is also a very comfortable mid level luxury sedan. Definitely more sporty. You feel more of the road and the car gives you more feedback, however you cannot compare it to a true sport sedan like the Audi A-6, BMW 5 series or Mercedes E class. Most women like this about the GS. They don't want to have the so called "driving experience".

I believe either car would be a great choice. It is up to you; do you want more interaction with your driving (GS) or would you like the isolation (ES).

Good luck and let all of us know what you chose.

The main difference between these vehicles is that the GS is larger and slightly more powerful this year as Lexus replaced the GS300 with the GS350. Thew new GS makes 303 hp.

The ES is all about comfort and luxury. It's FWD (Front wheel drive) whereas the GS is RWD (Rear Wheel Drive). Performance enthusiasts will prefer RWD, but most drivers won't see any difference between FWD and RWD cars. The ES offers as many features as the GS and is about 5k cheaper.

If you demand a sporting drive the GS is better for you. If comfort and luxury is more for you, the ES will suit you better.
