lexus is toyota. toyota is well known for the durability and reliability of its cars. DO NOT buy a german car with that many miles on it, or for that little money. once they start breaking they never stop, and it will cost you a fortune to maintain. go for the lexus, its still going to be pricey to maintain (simply because its a lexus) but you wont have to worry about major repairs as often as anything else on the road. the sc300 will cost a bit less to maintain than the sc400. both are great cars but if you want the power of a v8, then go for the 400.

i own a repair shop, and there both good cars but the mileage is always something to consider when buying a vehicle,id say you could get your moneys worth from either one of those, but the price is a little high on both of them, and that's really not that good of a deal on those cars, even though there good cars there not worth what there asking for them,if i was you id look around at some other places, you,ll find a lot better deal than that one a Lexus if that's what your looking for,but paying that much for one isn't a good idea, there good cars to buy,but not at those prices, good luck i hope this help,s.
Lexus is a fantastic car and will last forever but there's a hitch - at the end of the day it's just a jumped up Toyota. Stay American or go German if you can afford it. Best bet in same class Audi A6/A8 or if you've really got balls an S8. Audi combines the style and performance of BMW or Merc without having the same in your face status, yet more times than not has better performance. These Lexus models don't hold their value either.
Well, first of all, you can never be sure if a used car is a good one or not. But, Lexus builds every car with quality and reliability. The either one of the SC's are great vehicles to own. And you're absolutely correct, Lexus' can go waaaaaay past 200,000 miles. I've seen one that has reached 550,000 miles with the original engine. You can never go wrong with Lexus, but you can go wrong with a used car. Make sure that everything on that car is the original. Look at the VIN number on the engine, dash board, car door, and trunk. If they all match, you will most likely be getting a good car. If they don't match, one of those has been replaced either from a wreck or some other reason.
