job i noticed a intermittent? whistle like or squeal sound comming from the left front wheel. It sounded like the brake pad was slightly kissing the rotor even when I was not appyling the brakes. But once i applied the brakes the sound would go away. The Midas brake mechanic told me that the new brakes had to wear in more and the sound would go away, He suggested that i drive the car 500 miles to get all the new parts to wear in more and the noise should go away. Has anyone ever heard of a new brake job having to wear in to eliminate the annoying whislte and squeal like noise? I had all new rotors and pads put on this car.

its perfectly normal , your new brakes are adjusting them selves

Had the same thing happen with my old Mazda 626. Took a couple hundred miles for the sound to go away.
