...rear, sounds like a clunking? it sounds like something is clunking in the trunk. If you had this problem what was it and how did you get it fixed. I'm having this problem with my lexus and i have tried to figure out where this noise is comming from. I emptied the trunk, spare tire and all and i still can hear this clunking noise. It happens mostly when i roll over small bumps in the road. Please help!

It's not in your trunk, it's from your rear suspension.

Im in the process of fixing my sc300 with this same problem. Im starting with the strut i just pulled it off last night and am going to take it to a shop today to have the spring put on my new strut. Im hoping that the strut fixes the problem if not then its onto the springs but they seem like they are still pretty stiff. I bet urs is the same thing, i would start with the strut and go from there.
