Lexus = luxury. That's been the traditional equation, and rather sedate luxury at that. The IS is more fun, certainly, but it's not really a monster-revving tire smoker -- at least, not before it's been fettled (http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/fettle). (I don't know what the means either - Ed.) It appears, though, that as Lexus works to broaden its image with true sports car credentials, a lot of tires are going to meet their ends to make the point. The video above is seventy-eight seconds of tire-smoking drift and spin, courtesy of an IS-F at Laguna Seca. If this is what the IS-F does... well, then the LF-A should be a whole lotta fun.

The point has been very well tAKEN....
This Lexus sure is working to broaden its image from luxury to a sports car. I always personally believed that a IS has the potential to do that and as u said put some tires to their end .

Very interesting automobile, however it does not look like a Lexus. Lexus is known for their black luxery cars in my opinion. Sports cars should always be listed as Porsche ;).

The lexus IS-F is one of my favorite models by Lexus. Not only does the car have the styling, it has the power to back it up!

It is a very nice looking car. Does anyone know what kind of numbers this Lexus is putting up on the board off hand?

It's not to bad of a car. I do really like the dark blue color. The car does look very sharp in that video!

Surprisingly, people are a little disappointed with the performance numbers - but the car is very powerful and fast. Let me see if I can pull something up about it...

Sure beautiful car. As Lexuses go, the IS-F is extreme rather than serene. It's based on a highly modified IS 250/350 sedan, a vehicle about the size of a BMW 3 series praised for its deft ride and handling.
