Bought the car (Certified Pre-Owned) in 2004 with just under 40,000 miles. It now has 90,000. No major problems. Took the car in for 90,000 mile service which includes replacing the timing belt. Shop is also recommending replacing the cam and crank seals and the water pump, since the engine is already being dropped out to replace the timing belt. There are no immediately evident problems - just being recommended due to cost of removing the engine again to replace either or both of these at a later date.
My gut feeling is to NOT have them done. Any insight on whether this is a good idea or what the liklihood is of either or both of these needing replacing in the future?
