I'm looking to purchase a 200 lexus RX and I'm wondering what the average life span is on them? Is 160,000 miles on a 2000 too much? How much longer can I expect that car to run? Thanks!!

if it werent for the notorious engine sludging thats giving most owners headaches, the rx 300 would have lasted most owners well into 200K on the odometer if they chose to. a family member put well over 150K on theirs (i believe its a 2001) until the engine failed. due to this major design flaw alone, it is safe to say that its average life span is not much to be expected. 8 year extended warranty coverage is almost over for most anyhow.

With good maintenance this vehicle can last well into the upper 200,000 mile range. But do expect to pay more for repairs because it's a luxury model with lots of du dads that can break.

It all depends on the maintance history.

I agree with the above answers and I am sure it will easily last 160,000 miles, to increase its performance and life span you need rapid care of the vehicle.
