2005 Lexus lx470, I have been told that I need rear brakes and the Lexus dealer will resurface the rotors and put new pads. I am leaning tiwardd getting the rotors and pads changed, also iheard getting the breaks done from Lexus ensures that they user graphite greese (some special greese) and shims inside the brake pads to minimize/eliminate squeeking of breaks. Vs if I take it to my local mechanic with OEM parts he might not use the greese and shims and will just change the breaks. Kindly let me know ur thaughts and also did I miss anything in my question that I should have asked.?

u missed like um 5th grade spelling....

other than that local mechanic can do just as good of job as the dealer.......most quality brake pads will come with the shims...and if not u can buy them from u local parts store...as for the anti-squeal grease...most shops use it just to eliminate customer complaints....but u can also buy this for $1 in a one use application at any parts store.......or simply ask the mechanic to make sure he/she uses it...
