The Lexus GS has always been a sporty, but mainly comfortable, luxurious car to drive. The latest generation has changed that a bit. The interior is more BMW-like, with more hard plastic interior pieces than before. It's much less soft and warm than the previous generation.

Considering that Cadillac's new CTS has lost some of its BMW-like characteristics, I wonder how long it'll take Lexus to follow suit. If Cadillac could not make BMWs, I don't think Lexus can (or should) either. It's just not what their customer base wants - in my opinion...

I couldn't agree anymore. I would much rather have an interior that is soft and warm than more hard plastic. I'm not sure what they are trying to accomplish here.

I think everyone is going to agree with each other in this thread. A warmer, softerfeel of the old interior is going to take this thread by storm.

I agree with everyone else in this thread, I like my interior to be very comfortable rather than very hard.

I wonder why a lot of car manufacturers are going with the harder plastic now a days. Could it be cheaper to produce?

It probably is a lot cheaper to produce the hard plasic compound. It is very sad to see the world charging more and producing products that aren't as good.

I don't know, but I've always like the interior of the older cars. The newer cars are so high tech and all of that.

I couldn't agree with you anymore... the newer cars are getting to high tech looking.
