I'm a huge fan of both trademarks.
I face a small problem with the cost of the BMW. its slightly higher than the Lexus ( I can afford it though ).

Which is better & why.
As far as I know, both are V6, 300 BHP.

People with previous driving experience of either cars, share with me.

The Lexus is faster, RWD, more fun to drive, more reliable, more quiet, and has a smoother ride, but it is also much smaller because it is a compact sedan while the BMW 5 series is a midsized sedan.

BMW 530i, has a 3.0-liter inline six, yet the BMW 550i, paradoxically, has a 4.8-liter V8. The final "i" originally distinguished 5 Series cars with fuel injection; these days, it only has significance in Europe where diesel models (that carry a "d") are also offered


Current Lexus IS 350

The rear-wheel-drive Lexus IS 350 is available in one body style, a four-door sedan, and with only one engine, a robust 3.5-liter V6 that pumps out 306 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque. It pushes the car from zero to 60 in 5.6 seconds, which, by the way, is firmly in sports car territory. The IS 350 comes standard with a six-speed automatic transmission. There is no manual option.

Picking out an IS 350 is pretty simple; there's only one trim level. It's very well equipped and includes 17-inch wheels, leather seats, power front seats, automatic dual-zone climate control, a moonroof and an impressive audio system with a six-CD changer. There's an auxiliary jack for MP3 players, and a Mark Levinson 14-speaker 300-watt 7.1 surround-sound audio system is available individually or as part of an option package that also includes a voice-activated navigation system.

Lexus IS 350 would be a better deal if you look at all the options you are getting for the price with the Lexus. Also look at the maintenance cost for the BMW.

BMW the best is built in Germany BMW is made for cold weather and has better features and they drive awesome...

BMW is a more sporty, gripping drive, but matinence is even more costly than the lexus

The lexus is a little more dull to drive, but the cabin is more user friendly, the matience is cheaper, and its better known for good reliaibility ratings.

BMWs are better handling, perfect 50/50 weight distribution, but Lexus vehicles are higher quality and more reliable. If you want better handler, get the Bimmer 530. If you want your vehicle to last longer with less problems, the Lexus IS 350.
