I have a 97 Lexus ES 300, and I am having problems at idling, sometimes, its real low and has come to stall few times while trying to go n reverse, also the CEL turn on a couple of days ago, had check it, and its showing up the
code -PO 446 Vent Solenoid Problem-

Could somebody help me here and tell me :
- What is the problem ?
- What could be the causes ?
- what part(s) does that have to be with ?
- how can I troubleshoot it ?
- and if there's just one and not too expensive solution to this problem instead of suggesting taking it to the dealer ?

that is not an easy fix it could be several it could something as simple as a vacuum leak bad sensor faulty wiring or bad ecm..... hope this helps.... po446 is Evaporative emission control system vent control malfunction.... which should be a leak or what i stated before has nothing to do with your exhaust........ i worked on cars for over 20 years before i had an accident

P0446 is an emissions code probably a cat sensor, it's located in the exhaust system underneath the car, the sensor is probably failing due to age, no trouble shooting it just needs to be replaced, take it to a good shop that you trust.
