My bf has a 96 lexus lx450 with 210xxx miles. When he accelerates it makes a dragging sound or like a low rumble and the car starts to shake.The faster he goes, the more noise it makes. You can hear it shifting gears so I'm thinking it may not be the transmission.I know the car is old..I was telling him its just time for a new vehicle but he seems to think whatever it is may be fixable. Anybody knows what may cause a rumble? I know his car basically drinks oil and sometimes when he accelerates it blows out white smoke.
